About Argentine Tango
Argentine tango is a social dance that originated in Argentina. Tango Live is a festival that showcases the dance with performances and also has social dances and classes for you to learn Argentine tango. The events are held at Alpen Club, SPK, Academie Duello and 505 Hamilton street. The main classes are at Alpen Club and SPK between the hours of 10:30 am and 6pm, with dances and performances and live music taking place from 9pm to 5 am, between April 22nd and April 26th.
Why Argentine Tango?
There is a special connection between partners in this dance. It has grown exponentially in popularity outside of Argentina in the last 20 years, and there are now tango communities all over the world, from Russia to Australia to South and North America, even smaller places such as Alaska and Hawaii. Tango is a romantic and passionate dance, and the movements are elegant and breathtaking especially when you watch a master perform.
What we offer
You can come watch and be inspired by performances of some of the worlds finest dancers of Argentine tango, and listen to two performances of live tango music by an orchestra with profesional musicians. There are tango performances in the evenings which you can buy tickets for. You don't have to have any dancing experience to attend. But if you wish to take lessons, you can also attend beginners classes, and then come dancing!

You have the opportunity to schedule private classes with Tango Live 2010 teachers (1-2 students). Please contact them directly by email or through facebook, otherwise, write to us, we will forward them your inquiries.
The price for privates range from $70-100 for 1 person and $70-130 for 2.
